If you find yourself in Nicaragua you have to try surfing Cerro Negro.

I had so much fun and met some pretty cool people on this little excursion. We almost died a few times driving there, I now know how my friends feel when I'm behind the wheel, and it was a trek to the top of the volcano but once I was up there it was to die for. That being said, don't be stupid like me and maybe follow your guide's advice about safety. I did not because I'm me and wiped out multiple times but had a shit ton of fun doing it :)
